:: and I sit there watching // while the sirens sing out loud // waiting for some clearance // as the bombs ring through the crowds // distant sounds of children // whisper through the sky // ghosts of tomorrow // thought no one had to die // dancing to the sirens // cacophony of death // celebrate destruction // with every passing breath // waiting for the answers // jumbled in their lies // collateral proclamations // said no one had to die // they plot their calculations // shredding flesh from bone // tears drench the soil // and they point to broken homes // analysts pour over // to satisfy the press // to justify the actions // of this unholy mess ::

This song is about the shock and awe of the bourgeois media spectacle. How it plays games with emotions, and reduces bodies to statistics and collateral damage. How overwhelmed and inundated we are with atrocities to the point it numbs us and we glance at horrific headlines and scroll on.
